On March 13, 2026, officers of the Coon Rapids Police Department were at Kwik Trip on Springbrook Dr NW in the city of Coon Rapids, Anoka County, Minnesota, to serve a harassment restraining order on Candille Dennis Demars Jr., [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. While there, officers were approached by a male who told officers that earlier in the day, Defendant made threats to Defendant’s aunt, D. D., via phone. Officers went to the location of D. D., which was a business less than a mile away from Defendant’s location.

D. D. Was visibly shaken and explained that Defendant had called her earlier in the day and told her multiple times that he would kill her unless she paid him $5,000. D. D. Recorded the call from Defendant and played the recording for the officers. In the recording, Defendant can be heard “I will fucking murder you, you bitch.” D. D. Told officers that she was so afraid that Defendant would follow through with the threat, that she armed herself with mace.
