On 3/31/2026, officers with the Minneapolis VA Medical Center were dispatched to a report of narcotic use at a VA apartment located in Building 6210 on Bloomington Road in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The reporting party, NH, the resident of the apartment, told officers that his girlfriend, SKYLER JADE KYROLA [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, was using fentanyl in their apartment. NH stated that he is concerned about Defendant's drug abuse and his probation status. NH also stated that Defendant used his truck which contained Defendant's illegal narcotics.
NH consented to officers searching the apartment and told them the location of the drugs. Officers arrived at the apartment and observed Defendant with drug paraphernalia. Defendant was placed under arrest. Officers observed in plain view additional drug paraphernalia. Officers searched the apartment and located a black sunglasses case on the kitchen table with narcotics and paraphernalia in it as stated by NH. After searching NH's vehicle, officers located more drug paraphernalia and multiple pieces of tinfoil with burnt residue on it in the center console.
One of the tinfoil had a tan colored rocklike substance that weighed 0.2 grams with the tinfoil. Officers also located a small blue container with a white powdery substance that weighed 1.2 grams in a post it note folded up. Based on the officers' training and experience and the evidence collected, officers believed both substances to contain fentany1. Both substances were sent to Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for testing. While transporting Defendant to Hennepin County adult detention center, Defendant slumped in the back seat of the squad and was not responding to her name.
Defendant stated that she just swallowed fentanyl immediately before being arrest. Officers administered one dose of Narcan and Defendant started to be awake and yelled "it hurts" and weeping softly. Defendant was transported to HCMC. Defendant is in custody.
