On February 13, 2026, Carver County Sheriff’s Deputy Vivas responded to reports of a theft that occurred on or about February 6, 2026, at a business in Chanhassen, Carver County Minnesota. The Lead, an adult male fully identified in police reports, stated that two females entered the business on February 6 at approximately 4:40 PM and stole multiple items. The Lead showed Deputy Vivas surveillance footage of the incident. Deputy Vivas observed two African American females enter the store, walk to various sections of the store, and load a number of items into a large purse and shopping basket.
The females then exited the store without paying for any items. The Lead stated that he was on break while the theft occurred and was not aware of the theft until later when he was notified by other employees. The Lead provided Deputy Vivas with a list of items stolen by the two females which included many items with an estimated total value of $4,315.92. On February 22, 2026, Deputy Vivas received information from a crime analyst regarding the theft suspects. Deputy Vivas reviewed driver’s license photos of LEANIKA MARIE WARREN [DOB REDACTED] and SHAKEENA TAKEEMA FLAX [DOB REDACTED] and compared the photos to surveillance footage from the theft.
Deputy Vivas confirmed that the suspects were Warren and Flax. On March 11, 2026, Deputy Vivas reviewed additional surveillance footage from the business. In the footage, Deputy Vivas observed Warren and Flax enter the store, load items into a large bag and basket from multiple sections, and passing all points of sale through the front entrance without paying for any items. Stat. 609.49., intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
