Probable Cause
On 3/28/2026, Coon Rapids Police Officers observed a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban displaying dealership plates at [ADDRESS REDACTED] NW Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The Officer approached to initiate a consensual encounter. The driver was identified as Ambakisye Adam Holmes [DOB REDACTED], Defendant hereinafter. The Officer asked if the Defendant had the title to the vehicle, in response the Defendant produced a photocopy of the title. The Officer searched the VIN number of the vehicle and it came back as stolen out of Richfield, Minnesota.
In a mirandized statement, the Defendant stated that he purchased the vehicle from the son of a male named Andrew. He also stated the purchase was made on craigslist. However, the Defendant was unable to identify either individual fully. Additionally, this was not the name of the seller on the title/bill of sale. The seller on the document was J. O. H., Victim hereinafter. During a search after the Defendants arrest, law enforcement found license plates not registered to the Defendant and an additional vehicle title that was not registered to the Defendant.
